3D-Modeling, Cause and Effect
FWP 2, ADR
LB Luis D. Pozo Torres
Thursdays, 03:45 pm
room 413

Over the past fifty years, the emergence of digital computational technologies and advancements in construction methods have equipped architects with a variety of digital tools. The effective use of these tools enables not only efficient planning but also to explore complex geometries for spatial and building problem-solving. This dynamic significantly impacts on how our modern societies shape the built environment hence the importance of expanding 3d modeling skills during architectural studies.
The aim of the course is to foster in the students the use of advanced 3d-Modelling as an alternative approach in the development of Architectural concepts, it provides a set of tools to understand, explore and generate complex geometries, allowing students to gain expertise not constrained it by processes of rationalization but rather by the limits of creativity and ingenuity.
By expanding the scope of geometric possibilities students will acquired valuable skills to explore innovative construction methods and strengthen their problem-solving abilities. This approach encourages creativity and ingenuity, essential for addressing future challenges facing architecture, such as sustainability and responsible building design.
The course will consist of lectures, one excursion (in Munich), elaboration of individual projects and elaboration of final group project.
