Advances in Digital technologies and in construction methods are moving rapidly and with this the palette of tools for architects is expanding and getting smarter. The effective use of these tools enables not only efficient planning but also to explore complex geometries for spatial and building problem-solving. At the same time this significantly impacts on how modern societies shape the built environment hence the importance on developing 3d modeling skills during architectural studies.
The aim of the course is to foster in the students the use of advanced 3D-Modeling as an alternative approach in the development of Architectural concepts, it provides a set of tools to understand, explore and generate complex geometries, allowing students to gain expertise not constrained it by processes of rationalization but rather by the limits of creativity and ingenuity.
While expanding the scope of what is possible through 3D modeling during the course, students will acquire valuable skills to explore spatial configurations as well as innovative construction methods. This approach encourages a ubiquitous way of thinking that is essential for addressing the future challenges facing architecture, such as sustainability and responsible building design.
The course will consist of lectures, one excursion (in Munich), elaboration of individual projects and elaboration of final group project.
Course Language: English, additional feedback is available in German and Spanish.
Requisites: Interest or proficiency of any CAD Program.
