Parametrics II: Design for Manufacture & Assembly

Digital planning and fabrication methods allow the design and production of highly complex structures – but also those need to be assembled from individual parts and require smart details. We will explore the basics of „Design for Manufacture & Assembly“ in short exercises with Rhino and Grasshopper and test our findings on physical models.

Digitale Planungs- und Fertigungsmethoden erlauben den Entwurf und die Produktion hochkomplexer Strukturen - aber auch diese müssen aus einzelnen Bauteilen gefügt werden und benötigen schlaue Details. Wir erarbeiten uns in kurzen Übungen mit Rhino und Grasshopper die Grundlagen des „Design for Manufacture & Assembly“ und erproben diese an physischen Modellen.
