The architecture vision of the modernist period is still dominating the current architecture thought. However, as we navigate the complexities of the 21st century, it becomes increasingly clear that this model falls short of addressing the imperatives of a sustainable future. "A Brave New World: Architecture in the Day After" is an exploration of architectural evolution and invitation to reimagine our built environment from a one that exists despite the environment to one that co-exists with it. In this course we are going to revisit the architecture through the lens of time, explore the changing nature of our built environment and examine how futuristic visions have shaped our present. Through case study analysis we will unveil why some buildings failed the test of time and others aged with elegance. In this course students will engage in reflective practice, examining both their own designs and the existing building stock and will be encouraged to propose new and brave architecture vision, where each structure not only tells the story of its time but also lays the foundation for new and brave sustainable future.
